Four years ago, a borrowed seat at a birthday dinner turned into the best conversation either of us had ever had. Since then we have survived an ocean between us, a thousand voice notes and one very nervous proposal on the sand at Tarkwa Bay.
Now we are making it official, and the day would not be complete without you. Come and eat with us, dance with us, and pray over us as we begin forever.
With all our love,Amara & Tomiwa
A threefold cord
Two are better than one… for if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow… and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

The first hello
Lekki, Lagos · 19 November 2021
A friend's birthday dinner, two empty seats at the far end of the table. Tomiwa asked Amara to pass the jollof. She asked for his number before dessert, and we have argued about who made the first move ever since.

Lagos ↔ Manchester · 2023
Amara's master's degree took her to Manchester for a year. Nine months of 6 a.m. calls, handwritten letters and one very expensive surprise visit taught us that home is a person, not a place.

She said yes
Tarkwa Bay · 13 June 2026
A boat ride, a picnic that was clearly too well planned, and both families hiding behind a cabana. Amara said yes before Tomiwa had finished the question.

For our guests
A few details
Should I bring a gift?
Your presence is the gift. If you would like to give something more, everything is under Gifts: pick a tag off our wish list, or write your name in the gift book and give towards our first home from Nigeria, the UK or anywhere. At the reception, envelopes rather than spraying, please.
How do I get my access card?
Once you reply, your access card is emailed to you two weeks before the wedding. It carries your name, table number, venue address and a QR code for check-in. Save it on your phone or print it, and if anything looks wrong, message our planner on WhatsApp.
My table is still unassigned. Should I be worried?
Not at all. Tables are assigned in the final week, once every reply is in. Your access card will show your table on the day.
Can I bring a plus one, or my children?
Each access card admits only the names printed on it. If your card says "and guest", you are welcome to bring one. We love your little ones, but the reception is an adults-only evening so that everyone can relax.
What is the aṣọ ẹbí, and where do I get it?
For Friday's engagement, family and friends wear aṣọ òkè in alaari wine with gold gele or fila. Fabric is available from Mrs Oduya until 20 February 2027. Saturday has no aṣọ ẹbí: black tie in our colours is perfect.
Is there parking at the venues?
Yes. The chapel has street parking with ushers directing, and The Grand Pavilion has a secured car park with valet. If you are using a ride-hailing app, the drop-off point is the main gate at both venues.
Where should out-of-town guests stay?
We have held a block of rooms at a hotel in Victoria Island, five minutes from the chapel and twenty from the reception. Mention "Amara and Tomiwa" when booking for the wedding rate, valid until 15 March 2027. The details are in your access card email.
